Vismodegib is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of Hedgehog (Hh) signalling. It is approved by the FDA for metastatic basal cell carcinoma and locally advanced basal cell carcinoma. Besides, vismodegib can be used as a neoadjuvant prior to surgery when debulking of the tumour becomes essential.
