AI along with machine learning and deep learning is a field of computer science, where algorithms are used to model the decision-making processes of the human brain. These models can “learn” from available data and make accurate predictions over time. One of the main advantages of utilizing AI tools is their ability to analyze and process large amounts of data efficiently. Human life is most vulnerable to climatic disasters. The natural environment is deteriorating at an unexpected pace. The need of the hour is to take urgent collective action for environmental protection. We want to develop an intelligent and smart system to monitor, analyze, and guide environmental protection. Environmental decision support systems (EDSS) will help in analyzing environmental issues. It will help to find the interrelated aspects of problems related to the environment and find optimum solutions for existing alternatives. It is a rapidly progressing field. We talk about various algorithms and methods to develop such systems. We look at the use of AI for handling the issues. It is a challenging task due to the dynamic nature and variation in the environment. To address the challenges, AI and environmental professionals are collaborating for effective design of solutions.
