Chronic Posterolateral Rotatory Instability: Arthroscopic Lateral Ulnar Collateral Ligament Reconstruction

Posterolateral rotatory instability (PLRI) is regarded as the most common pattern of elbow joint instability, typically resulting from a deficiency in the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) complex. In particular, the lateral ulnar collateral ligament (LUCL) functions as a key stabilizer against external rotation forces and varus stress at the ulnohumeral joint [1]. Surgical repair of the LUCL is generally indicated for acute injuries, while recurrent symptomatic chronic PLRI often requires LUCL reconstruction [2, 3].
