Arthroscopic-Assisted Coronoid Fixation with Lateral Collateral Ligament Repair

摘要

Arthroscopic-assisted fixation of coronoid fractures is an advanced technique that enhances visualization and reduces soft tissue disruption. It is crucial for stabilizing the elbow; fractures compromising over 50% of its height can cause instability. Unlike traditional open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF), which poses neurovascular risks and limited exposure, arthroscopy allows for accurate intra-articular assessment and direct visualization, is beneficial for small fragments, and preserves blood supply for better recovery. It is indicated for Regan and Morrey Type I or II and anteromedial facet fractures, while complex injuries may need an open approach. The advantages of this arthroscopic method include reduced soft tissue damage and improved control over reduction, though it requires advanced skills and carries risks of neurovascular injury. Clinical outcomes indicate that postoperative range of motion is better, and complication rates are lower than ORIF. The choice of surgical technique depends on the fracture’s complexity and the surgeon’s expertise.
