Theoretical Foundations of Limited-Data SAR Causal ATR

This chapter introduces a causal model for limited-data SAR target recognition, aiming to analyze the key issues underlying the challenges of SAR ATR in limited-data scenarios. This chapter begins by analyzing the challenges of limited-data SAR ATR, emphasizing the necessity of constructing a causal model. It then introduces the foundational elements of the causal model, including the basic paradigm of SAR ATR and the core concepts of causal inference. Finally, the chapter models the causal relationships among key factors in SAR ATR, compares the causal changes between sufficient and limited-data conditions, and provides a causal interpretation of the challenges faced in limited-data SAR ATR. These insights offer a new perspective for developing high-performance SAR ATR methods under limited-data conditions.
