Longitudinal and Profile Modification Application for the Purpose of Reducing Contact Stresses on Gear Teeth Working Surfaces
摘要
The paper outlines the technique of optimal parameters determination for profile and longitudinal modification in order to smooth the distribution of contact stresses on the working surfaces of gear teeth. The finite element method is used to estimate the character of distribution and maximum values of contact stresses. An example of calculation for a typical design of helicopter's main gearbox helical stage is given. Common references to the formation of the model structure are given. The approach stated in the article has already been applied in helicopter gearbox designs exploited and has proved its efficiency in practice.
