摘要

Titanium alloy is known for its high strength, good corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, making it suitable for biomedical applications such as implants. The existing titanium alloy in implants using Vanadium observed to have serious side effects to human. To overcome this issue, titanium alloy using other elements is to be studied. Mechanical tests were performed on the titanium-aluminum-niobium (Ti-6Al-7Nb) alloy, made by powder methodology and sintered using spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique to evaluate the material properties. The alloy is yielding at 740 MPa, estimated from the compression test, found to be in agreement with the literature. The Young’s modulus and hardness are obtained from nano-indentation experiment and is found to be 108.4 GPa and 3.3 GPa.
