摘要

Heat is one of the integral parts of energy that can be transferred from hot body to cold body by means of different mechanism like conduction, convection, radiation, etc. In industrial and domestic applications, tremendous amount of energy is getting wasted. For decades, researches have been conducted to retrieve maximum amount of heat. In this paper, the main focus is to develop a numerical model that can retrieve the maximum amount of heat from the drained out hot water of a washing machine. The study will provide a side by side comparison of using heat exchangers of two separate geometry. To justify the study and analysis as cost effective and secured, materials are also selected carefully. From this study, it can clearly be understood that compared to double tube heat exchangers, triple tube design can provide better performance in terms of heat transfer rate, melting-solidification, temperature of water at outlet, and other parameters.
