To implement organisational strategy, change projects need to be executed successfully. However, such projects often fail to achieve their goals. This chapter studies the project leadership capabilities that project leaders (e.g. the project manager and project owner) and their organisations need to possess to ensure successful project implementation. We collected survey data on project and organisational leadership capabilities and their impact on various dimensions of project success from 892 projects in six South Pacific countries. Results show the project leadership capabilities that are most effective. Further, the cultural aspects of project leaderships are discussed.
