Robotics in Education—Transforming Stem Learning and Skill Development
摘要
In the modern classroom, robotics is quickly changing how kids learn, think, and create. This chapter addresses the integration of robots in education and its impact on transforming STEM learning into an engaging, practical experience that links theory to real-world problem-solving. Through the construction and programming of robots, students enhance the understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while also cultivating essential 21st-century skills, like creativity, collaboration, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking. The chapter emphasises the introduction of robotics via formal curricula and informal activities such as maker spaces, competitions, and community projects. It also covers the collaboration between educators, educational institutions, and industry to ensure robotics is accessible to all students, from primary to tertiary levels. Despite problems like resource constraints and teacher preparedness, the increasing passion for robotics demonstrates its capacity to foster creativity and equip students for a future influenced by automation and artificial intelligence. Ultimately, robots in education transcends mere machinery; it aims to enable young minds to conceive, design, and construct the future.
