Depending on the nature and seriousness of a violation of law, citizens in general, including children, are subject to corresponding legal liability as prescribed in legal normative documents. Among the current types of legal liability is administrative liability (Le Minh Toan, 2019). Within the scope of this article, the author focuses on certain theoretical and legal issues concerning child-friendly administrative justice, or in other words, the protection of children’s rights when they bear administrative liability in Vietnam, particularly in cases of administrative sanctioning. On that basis, the article identifies several shortcomings in the relevant legal provisions and proposes solutions for improvement, aiming to ensure greater effectiveness in protecting children’s rights in general and in the context of administrative sanctioning in particular in Vietnam in the coming period.
