Ensuring access to justice for children, including defendants, victims, and witnesses, has increasingly become a matter of significant concern and priority for many countries, including Vietnam. This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the development of a child-friendly trial model that upholds the best interests of the child. It examines the current legal framework and the practical implementation of this model in Vietnam. Based on this analysis, the chapter offers recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of child friendly trial practices, thereby contributing to a child sensitive justice system and strengthening the protection of children’s rights in Vietnam.
