In recent years, the reported cybercrimes have increased manifold and there is more load on forensic sciences laboratories with regard to evidence acquisition, examination, analysis, and reporting. In this paper, the risk management process related to digital evidence in forensic laboratories is discussed in relation to digital forensic capabilities and expertise. The study carried out has broader implications for global accreditation and assessment standards laboratories accredited with International Organization for Standardization and the International Electro technical Commission standards.
