This paper's goal is to provide a comprehensive analysis of distributed management and control strategies for contemporary power systems, with an emphasis on micro-grids. This paper discusses the features and challenges of the smart grid, a next-generation power system, as well as potential research avenues. The smart grid, which integrates communication, advanced components like power electronics, sensing, and measurement, and advanced control technologies, may face difficulties in accommodating the growing demand for small-scale renewable energy resources due to limited computational resources. Researchers have been investigating distributed approaches, which split the control task across several units, to overcome this problem. This paper delves into the characteristics of these techniques while acknowledging the obstacles and opportunities that lie ahead.

摘要
