Atmospheric water generators and solar distillation systems predominantly fall within the scope of sustainable water harvesting. This chapter provides an overview of these systems in terms of its historical importance, the environmental impacts on water generation, and applications of these technologies. The scientific concepts underpinning the working of these systems will be covered in subsequent chapters.
