In the nuclear industry, the supply of FPGA chips for digital control systems of magnetic bearings used in magnetic levitation compressors is limited. To ensure the security of a multi-channel supply chain, a feasibility study was conducted to replace the existing chips with the EQ6HL45 FPGA from the manufacturer Zhongke Yihaiwei. Based on the actual requirements of the digital control system, a comprehensive comparison with the original chip in hardware performance and software platforms was carried out, key FPGA functional modules were programmed and tested, and the chip was applied in the design of the digital control system for the compressor equipped with magnetic bearings and tested in suspension experiments. The results show that the new FPGA development platform has well-developed hardware and software capabilities, and the compressor’s levitation performance remains unchanged after the chip replacement. The EQ6HL45 is sufficient to replace the original chip in the application.
