The role and value of think tanks in the economic field cannot be ignored. Think tanks can provide governments, decision makers and policy makers with professional opinions and suggestions on economic problems, thus giving great support and impetus to economic development. Generally, research topics in the economic field are selected pursuant to the current economic policy agenda. Based on the advantages of independent, professional and academic studies and information resources, such research aims to identify and assess risks and challenges in the economic field for policy makers, and inspire new theories and ideas for promoting economic development and improving national competitiveness for economic sustainability. Focusing on economic think tank research, this chapter analyzes the new growth point of economic development strategies as a fusion of think tank science and engineering and economics. From the perspective of think tank science and engineering, solutions are offered for major economic issues to increase the momentum of economic growth and the well-being of human beings.
