This concluding chapter synthesises the empirical findings from Chaps. 3 – 6 and details the theoretical contributions of the study, which are rooted in three theoretical perspectives: the Law of One Unemployment Rate (LOUR), the two-sector search model for young workers, and platform capitalism. The chapter discusses how the empirical findings deepen our understanding of these three theoretical frameworks and underscores their practical significance. Based on the empirical evidence, the chapter recommends two active labour market policies to address high youth unemployment: job search assistance and employment subsidies. It also proposes a “neo-apprenticeship” framework grounded in a holistic taxonomy for knowledge and skill acquisition that synthesises Kajita’s classification of educational goals and Nonaka’s theory of knowledge creation. The proposed framework aims to address institutional gaps in capability formation and foster a more productive and dynamic society.

摘要
