Analysis of Fusion Reactors Design Safety Requirements

With the development of ITER project, China is preparing to build China Fusion Engineering Experimental Reactor (CFETR), at present; there is no domestic nuclear fusion regulation framework. Referred to the French regulatory of nuclear installation and combined the design objectives of CFETR, the research reactor regulatory framework in China are applied for CFETR in this paper. On the basis of China nuclear safety regulation HAF201 “Safety Code on Research Reactor Design”, referred to the requirements of HAF102 “Safety Code on Nuclear Power Plant Design” and IAEA safety requirement SSR-3 “Safety of Research Reactors”, the applicability of HAF201 is analyzed and the main provisions and applicable design safety requirements should be included for CFETR is recommended.
