The Research on Hydrochemical Environment Establishment of Containment Sump in Post Accident

This study focuses on the establishment of the hydrochemical environment in the containment sump after an accident in the advanced passive nuclear power plant. The objective is to optimize the location of the pH adjustment baskets to enhance the effectiveness of accident radioactive iodine adsorption measures and reduce the environmental leakage of radioactive materials. The research including the establishment of containment flood-up, the simulation of flow characteristics in the containment sump and the dissolution and diffusion rates of chemicals for pH adjustment. The results indicate that the structure of the sump has a significant effect on fluid flow characteristics, and the high-temperature fluid are conductive to accelerating the dissolution and diffusion of chemicals. Experiments explored the dissolution rates of different chemicals, analyzed the diffusion behavior. The study provides a designing scheme of hydrochemical control in the containment sump after accidents, which are of great significance for emergency response and environmental protection after accidents at nuclear power plants.
