The ready-mix concrete (RMC) industry plays a vital role in construction by supplying pre-mixed concrete, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring quality control. It streamlines construction processes, reducing on-site labor and material wastage. RMC plants employ advanced technology for batching, mixing, and delivery, optimizing production and minimizing environmental impact. Effective supply chain management is key, ensuring timely delivery of materials and enhancing overall project outcomes. Supply chain management is a link of organization network that involves many parties contributing to the development and quality of products or services delivered to the customer. But having improper implementation of supply chain management can lower the level of the performance in terms of cost, time, and quality of the product. This study explores challenges faced by the RMC professionals, the effectiveness of existing supply chain management process for ready-mixed concrete, and benefits of implementing SCM. Challenges were identified through a thorough literature study. Pilot study was conducted and visited 5 RMC plants, and questionnaire was validated. Questionnaire survey was conducted through one to one interaction, Google Forms, and telephonic interview. Responses were collected from quality controllers, plant in charges, and managers. The challenges faced by the professionals, significance, and benefits on implementation of SCM principles were ranked using relative importance index and analyzed.
