An Efficient Method for Implementing Automatic Headlight Switching Using LDR
摘要
The main concept of the paper is the development of road safety and driving comfort with the use of an intelligent system that, at its default setting, will adjust vehicle headlights based on the conditions around them. The headlight provided by conventional vehicles tends to cause discomfort to oncoming traffic since its brightness remains constant, which may cause a safety hazard. The included sensors and algorithms dynamically drive the intensity of the vehicle’s headlights. An ambient light sensor is used to get the lighting condition from the outside environment and compute the brightness level that would be suitable for the vehicle’s headlight using an adaptive algorithm. It considers the rise in traffic flow, streetlights, and natural environmental conditions for automatically triggering the dimming mechanism for maximum possible visibility without glaring at others. The key features are real-time monitoring of the surroundings the vehicle is riding into, instantaneous action upon a change in lighting conditions, and ease of integration into existing systems within automobiles. Moreover, it saves energy by using power only when it is dark enough outside. The “Automatic Headlight Dimmer” paper offers safety for passengers on the road, while also contributing to the development of smart and adaptive automotive technologies.
