An Example Decision Support System for Car Rental
摘要
Car rental has become increasingly popular and diverse in today’s world, making it a necessary aspect of travel. However, choosing among the various vehicles offered by different car rental companies can be a complex process. Therefore, customers need support in the decision-making process to select the best vehicle that fits their budgets, vehicle preferences, and other priorities. Car rental involves evaluating multiple criteria. In daily life, decisions related to situations or problems often involve multiple and conflicting criteria. Considering this, using intuitive methods for decision-making may be insufficient. Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) can be defined as the process of selecting from a finite and enumerable or uncountable set of alternatives using a minimum of two criteria. In this study, a decision support system was designed using multi-criteria decision-making methods. Initially, criteria were identified through a literature review, and these criteria were weighted using the Conjoint Analysis method with the SPSS program. Within this framework, MCDM methods including TOPSIS, ELECTRE, and SAW were used together. This system, which facilitates the car rental process and provides users with more flexibility and personalization options, can enhance customer satisfaction in the transportation industry.
