A Secure Trust Management Model for Social IoT

The Internet of Things is expanded by the Social Internet of Things (SIoT), which incorporates social networking principles and ideas into the areas of device connectivity, communication, and social networking. Trust management (TM) is essential in building relationships with trustworthy peers throughout the flow of information and services and lowers the chance of encountering malicious nodes. Therefore, developing a TM model that guarantees secure communication is necessary. In this study, the idea of quantifying trust is investigated through the use of trust evaluation of direct trust in service context, direct trust in recommendation context, co-operativeness, degree of social ties and indirect trust. All the trust-related factors are combined with a weighted sum technique to create a single trust score. The simulation tests were designed to assess the suggested trust model’s efficacy. The findings indicate that the suggested trust model effectively categorizes nodes with 100% precision, a 96% recall, and a 96% F1-score, even when 50% of the nodes are malicious.
