A Novel Coin-Insertion EV Charging System for Enhanced Accessibility Using Raspberry Pi Pico
摘要
The growing popularity of Electric Vehicles (EVs) emphasises the necessity of inclusive and easily accessible charging infrastructure, particularly for consumers who have minimal access to digital payment methods. This study suggests a novel coin-insertion-based EV charging solution that uses a Raspberry Pi Pico to overcome this challenge. A coin-based payment method is included into the system architecture, guaranteeing both cost-effectiveness and user-friendliness. The technique includes hardware integration, system design, and performance testing to assess the functionality and dependability of the system. Results from experiments verify the system's feasibility and show its scalability, cost, and ease of use. These results demonstrate that the proposed solution can facilitate the broader adoption of sustainable transportation efforts and improve EV charging accessibility.
