Corneal Non-infectious Manifestations of Systemic Viral Disorders
摘要
The cornea, susceptible to various systemic diseases including viral infections, can suffer from direct and immune-mediated effects, often impacting vision significantly if not promptly diagnosed and managed. This chapter describes the various non-infectious manifestations of systemic viral disorders on the cornea, highlighting their clinical presentations, underlying mechanisms and management strategies. Corneal vulnerability to systemic diseases including herpes simplex, varicella-zoster, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Sars-Covid, adenoviral pharyngoconjunctival fever and measles is elaborated.
