Epithelial Keratitis
摘要
HSV keratitis can involve all corneal layers including the epithelium which is characterized by epithelial manifestations like dendritic ulcer and geographic ulcer. Most dendritic ulcers heal spontaneously, but treatment with antivirals is essential to prevent complications and reduce viral replication. Early intervention is crucial to minimize inflammation, shorten disease duration, and preserve vision. This chapter provides a detailed overview of HSV epithelial keratitis, including its epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, investigations, and treatment.
