The chapter connects transitional justice, transnational networks the work of NGOs to the wider context of global governance, whilst making deeper reflections on the nuances of global justice making in general. It draws attention to the dual dimension of NGO work across global spaces—the legitimation of transitional justice and enhancing of global governance. It proposes ways of diffusing the hegemonic forms of global justice, through the exploration of emerging regional and sub-regional avenues for accountability. In doing so, it also paves the way for more research on how actors could counter-hegemonic structures of global governance under the purview of transitional justice. The closing discussions in the book also benefit from the author’s previous scholarship, to inform future interactions between transitional justice and global governance in the Global South.
