Comparison Between Eventualities: Degree-Based Versus Kind-Based
摘要
This chapter investigates two strategies of equating properties of eventualities, which involve different parameter markers and standard markers. I propose that those two kinds of construction differ in evaluativity when equating the scalar properties of states (e.g. whether it entails that the comparee/standard exceeds the positive threshold), and this distinction further correlates with their structural properties (e.g. whether the parameter marker forms a constituent with the parameter.
