Geodiversity Identification Along the Great Sumatran Fault in the Kerinci-Sungai Penuh Pull-Apart Graben, Jambi, Indonesia; Aspiring Geopark
摘要
Kerinci-Sungai Penuh is the western administrative part of Jambi Province which has been designated as geoheritage conservation. This area is located on the Great Sumatran Fault (GSF), which believed to be the cause of deformation which can form geodiversity and geological scientific value. This research aim to determine the distribution of geodiversity along the GSF which form the morphology of the Kerinci-Sungai Penuh basin. Therefore, apart deforming the morphology by forming basins as a result of the movement of the GSF of Siulak Segment, so that it will provide its uniqueness geodiversity. This research began with remote sensing geological analysis to produce a 1:50,000 geological scale map. This map will later be overlapped digital elevation model. Then from this stage a map will be produced with information on the fault zones and morphological characteristics. The research to identify detailed field data by describing scientific value of existing geodiversity. So that the scientific value of these parameters can mutually strengthen each other. This will result in geoheritage conservation based on local wisdom. This research found 28 geosites as geodiversity along the GSF which forms the basin graben. It has its characteristics which are highlighted as its scientific uniqueness which includes morphology and landscape, geological and tectonic structures, rocks, and green energy. Geosites are spread over 24 geosites in Kerinci and 4 geosites in Sungai Penuh. Based on the geological setting, it is very interesting to present the geoheritage designated in this area about Geoheritage along pull-apart graben of the GSF.
