Preliminary Assessment of Geosite and Geodiversity as an Aspiring Geopark Recognition, Comparasion of the Kerinci-Sungai Penuh, Indonesia with the Merangin Jambi UGGp
摘要
Preliminary assessment of geosites and geodiversity is the early stage aspiring geopark recognition. Therefore, it is necessary to research the scientific geological value, in order to obtain a geosite that is representative and has characteristics that are different from geosites in other geopark. The Kerinci-Sungai Penuh area is the western part of Jambi Province on the Great Sumatran Fault and the presence of volcanic that surrounds it. This preliminary research, quantitative and qualitative are needed. Geosite and geodiversity comparisons need to be carried out with Merangin Jambi UGGp, due to their close geographical location. The aim is to obtain the uniqueness of the geosite aspring geopark recognition. The research area has 28 geosites. The criteria for quantitative geosite assessment were 4 geosites very good global significance, 18 geosites good with 5 geosites national significance and 13 geosites local significance, 6 geosites moderate local significance. Preliminary qualitative assessment of geosites found that all geosites had research interest parameters, 14 geosites of interest for educational parameters which 4 geosites global value, 4 geosites national value and 6 geosites local value. The interest tourism parameter has 23 geosites with details of 4 geosites global value, 4 geosites national value, and 15 geosites local value. Several parameters were obtained that can be used to differentiate between geosites, including rock assemblages, origin of rocks, age of stratigraphic formation, Great Sumatran Fault, fossil, karst, volcanic, and geothermal. This comparison is to ensure the suitability, high scientific value of the research area aspiring geopark recognition.
