The tilt-rotor aircraft is a new type of composite aircraft with superior high-speed cruise and low-speed flight capabilities. This paper analyzes the development history of foreign tilt-rotor UAVs, which is divided into three stages, and the characteristics of the representative tilt-rotor UAVs of each stage. Then the technological development trend of foreign tilt-rotor UAVs is summarized. Finally, through research on the development of foreign tilt-rotor UAVs, the reference for the development of tilt-rotor UAVs in China is provided. And the main possible ways for Chinese future development of tilt-rotor UAVs are proposed.
