Emphasizing the Potential for Obesity-Related Pregnancy Care Problems: Bringing Attention to the Risk of Obesity-Related Pregnancy Problems
摘要
Obesity during pregnancy offers serious health hazards to both the mother and the fetus, necessitating extensive treatment to achieve a healthy outcome. This chapter delves into the multimodal approach to managing obesity in pregnancy, including critical techniques in preconception care, diet, physical activity, medical management, and postpartum care. It highlights the need for a multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, dietitians, physical therapists, and mental health experts to deliver individualized, evidence-based care. Weight management, balanced eating, and safe activity during pregnancy are all important ways to reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, hypertension, and preeclampsia. Psychosocial support and behavioral therapies are also critical for resolving mental health issues, encouraging long-term health behaviors, and boosting mother well-being. Postpartum techniques emphasize weight management, health monitoring, and nursing to promote long-term health for both the mother and the child. The chapter finishes with a call to action for healthcare providers to collaborate and empower pregnant women through information, support, and effective interventions, resulting in better maternal and fetal health outcomes.
