Introduction
摘要
Israel and Taiwan are probably the only countries whose very existence is challenged by their immediate neighbors who adamantly refuse to accept their existence as free, independent and sovereign political entities. Since 1949 Mainland China insisted on restoring Taiwan to its rule, whereas Israel’s legitimacy is still unacceptable to the majority of its neighbors. Inevitably this led, in recent years to a been growing awareness in both Taiwan and Israel of the existence of each other as well as the growing importance of East Asia for Israelis and of the Middle East for the Taiwanese.
