Recent Developments and Emerging Strategies for Aerodynamic Drag Reduction in High-Speed Trains
摘要
Recent advancements in aerodynamic drag reduction for high-speed trains are explored in this review, with emphasis placed on its critical role in enhancing energy efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance. Significant challenges are faced by high-speed trains due to aerodynamic drag, which affects energy consumption, noise levels, and passenger comfort. Findings from various studies are synthesized, focusing on strategies such as streamlined shapes, optimized nose designs, bogie position adjustments, and surface modifications, including dimples. Validation of these techniques is conducted through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, wind tunnel tests, and advanced algorithms, with substantial reductions in drag coefficients and energy usage being demonstrated. Future directions are highlighted, including the potential of active flow control, innovative shape optimization, biomimetic surface treatments, active aerodynamic systems, lightweight materials, and energy recovery systems for further performance enhancement. Alignment with global sustainability goals is shown by these developments, paving the way for faster, more energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly rail systems. The importance of continuous research in train aerodynamics is underscored, as the evolution of high-speed rail systems prioritizing efficiency, sustainability, and passenger comfort is driven forward.
