This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of ethical frameworks and guidelines for the responsible development, deployment, and governance of artificial intelligence (AI). The chapter examines global initiatives, including frameworks from organizations such as the European Union (EU), IEEE, NIST, UNESCO, the United Nations (UN), and more, emphasizing their core principles such as transparency, accountability, inclusivity, fairness, and human-centred values. Through a critical comparative evaluation, the chapter highlights the strengths and limitations of each framework, addressing their regional and sector-specific applications. The frameworks emphasize key themes like risk management, stakeholder engagement, cultural diversity, and sustainable development while identifying gaps in harmonization and practical implementation. The chapter concludes with the importance of continuous improvement, global collaboration, and the need for universally accepted ethical standards to ensure AI technologies align with societal values and promote global well-being.
