Measurement of Plasma Parameters for Switching Arcs
摘要
Switching arcs encountered in high voltage gas blast circuit breakers are basically of a transient nature with a gas temperature up to 30,000 K and a duration of typically 10–20 milliseconds, accompanied by strong light emission and possible shock waves in gas flow. In low voltage gas circuit breakers, the arc temperature is around 10, 000 K with a wider range of arc duration (3-20 ms), and the unique back-arc breakdown phenomenon is a fast transient process with a time scale of microsecond or shorter.
