There is a significant role of solar energy in the policy framework of Indian energy sector which add the new capacity, enhance energy security, mitigate environmental concerns, and establish itself as a leader in the burgeoning renewable energy market. Therefore, this work categorizes and studies the issues accountable for solar energy adoption plan vis-a-vis renewable energy adoption in India. A problem framework is established in this work using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach to analyze the factors hindering or enabling in installing solar power plant in India. This analysis establishes that cancellation of tenders and tariffs, land requirement, disconnection between formulation and implementation, safeguard danger and debt problem are the key contributors in acceptance of solar power.
