A Young Lady with Progressive Neck Swelling and Bilateral Partial Ptosis
摘要
A 24-year-old lady having the classic feature of hyperthyroid Graves’ disease was noticed to have bilateral partial ptosis. She screened positive for Myasthenia Gravis on bedside ice on eyes test, and later the diagnosis was confirmed by positive autoimmune markers and by a repetitive nerve stimulation test. This case scenario is a unique example of clustering of endocrine and non-endocrine autoimmune diseases, and the subsequent discussion focuses on autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome.
