Hypercalcemia is a common clinical problem attributable to primary hyperparathyroidism or malignancy in most cases. Though most patients with primary hyperparathyroidism are asymptomatic, infrequently, it may present with frank complications or even with hypercalcemic crisis. The following case demonstrates the classic presentation of hypercalcemic crisis in a 39-year-old male and highlights the rational steps in evaluation with subsequent management.
