The global economies have witnessed dramatic economic laurels, owing to the improving bargaining position to vertically integrate with suppliers, and creating the paradigms of regional integration for collective prosperity. This chapter enhances discussions about regional energy markets, air services and trade facilitation, and analyses the potential for vertical integration in CASA, with a specific emphasis on South Asia. Numerous studies using various methodologies and models have assessed the paradigms of trade integration, supporting the assertion that regional trade integration is beneficial for the regions or economies. Among the various regional integration initiatives, SAFTA is a modest first step towards comprehensive economic integration among South Asian nations, with potential prospects. The SAFTA demonstrates that regional cooperation and integration in South Asia are advancing, however, the economic integration of industries requires acceleration. Industries that operate transnationally and regionally co-evolve throughout production chains in the market. The research indicates that enhanced regional cooperation and integration provide significant prospects for CASA member nations.
