In the previous chapter, a strategy was presented to aid in the selection of appropriate technologies for users at the base of the economic pyramid (BoP). The approach is helpful for selecting the best alternative. However, in order to assess the technologies from an engineering design point of view, it is necessary that the design analysis of the technologies is carried out. In this chapter, analyses of two technologies designed for the BoP are presented.
