摘要

The evolution of CSR from a philanthropic essence to a climate action-driven approach has occurred with a brief moment of time. This chapter is dedicated to understanding the current issues of environmental threats and how the shift of company CSRs is rising on the issues of climate change. From stakeholders demand for a climate-conscious CSR approach to making strategic shifts to address climate issues, the environmental threats and climate change emergency are taken quite crucially by the companies. Science-Based Target Initiatives and the Paris Agreement Treaty are two important reforms that are introduced in relation to the situation here, the detailed changes exhibited by them are explored here. Challenges like combining profitability with sustainability focus, handling regulatory compliances, fighting internal resistance in organisational changes, and managing global supply dependencies are commonly observed. There are potential solutions for strategising a climate change-oriented CSR goal by navigating these challenges which are addressed in detail in the chapter. The CSR activities generated as a result of climate change action from the corporate have the potential to alter the current state of difficulty in the environment and achieve the target of the Paris Agreement by the year 2030.
