Sustainable Digital Strategy for Responsible Leadership
摘要
This chapter defines and explores the tenets of Full Spectrum Digital Resilience, an approach to aligning sustainable digital strategy with digital resilience to maximize positive impact across an organization’s technology portfolio. Starting with a thought exercise to ground leaders’ understanding of digital’s impact upon the physical world—which is both significant but defensible when considering how proper application of technology can be instrumental to affecting positive climate and sustainability action. The chapter then proposes top-level tenets to continuously lean and improve their organization’s digital ecosystem by considering topics such as “build vs. buy,” “solve the problem,” and “right-sized security.” The discussion then moves into digital governance, proposing a practical sampling of governance domains, such as capital planning, agile implementation, data governance, storage management, and cybersecurity. By contrasting common pitfalls like over-engineering and gray-IT with adaptive solutions like data mesh and CI/CD, this chapter encourages leaders to adopt a broad-based perspective, prioritizing flexibility, efficiency, and measurable outcomes. Additionally, emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and extended reality are addressed with examples relevant to sustainability and climate. This chapter aims to equip responsible leaders with a cross-cutting mindset to craft sustainable digital strategy and deliver Full Spectrum Digital Resilience.
