Are We on the Right Track Toward SDGs? Landscape of Organizational Sustainability from HRM Perspective
摘要
With the increase in environmental, social, and economic issues, there has been a constant call for integrating sustainability into business operations. However, the progress of achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) made until 2023 is remarkably slow and negligible. Often, the organization’s top management faces primary criticism for not adhering to sustainable practices. Moreover, most academicians come up with new abstracts of sustainable human resource management (HRM) ideas that are hard to realize, creating fads and fashions for human resource (HR) professionals. Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in HRM functions has significantly increased, and researchers often assert that AI-enabled HRM has the potential to address sustainable issues. However, there is still no concrete evidence regarding its applicability throughout the process. There is also insufficient information about how these HRM practices would address the problem, leaving a gap in the HRM domain. This research aims to adapt a descriptive exploratory mechanism to understand the entire sustainability landscape through an HRM perspective. The research outcomes may aid in a better understanding of the problem and facilitate academicians and practitioners to work in tandem toward a feasible and sustainable solution.
