摘要

The act of creating, distributing, or selling fake or copied products, documents, currency, or medicines to mislead others into believing they are genuine is known as counterfeiting. Advances in technology, such as high-resolution equipment, advanced 3D printers, and high-tech software, are easily available, influencing people to engage in counterfeiting activities. The growth of counterfeiting has now increasing day by day so there is much need to develop a solution to counter the rapidly growing counterfeiting activities. Counterfeiting activities are a major concern for governments, companies, and individuals worldwide, with significant consequences for financial security, safety, and health. Luminescent materials offer effective techniques to detect the counterfeited product. Luminescent paints and inks, made from phosphors, are highly adaptable, easy to apply, and convenient for reading across different environments. Visual inspection remains a simple and cost-efficient method for identification while combining both visible and invisible inks provides an additional layer of security against counterfeiting. Different types of ink technologies used for anti-counterfeiting such as UV-sensitive, IR-sensitive, magnetic, optically variable and thermally sensitive inks are used for anti-counterfeiting. This paper discusses advanced dual mode and multimode luminescence techniques employed in anticounterfeiting technologies.
