Conclusion
摘要
Shakespeare’s legacy has existed and passed on more than in the past literatures, but also from stage to screen, from theater to streaming media, in the contemporary twenty-first century after COVID-19 in post-shutdown. In Chap. 6 of this monograph, we appreciate Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar is adapted to be the stage performance Caesar’s Maze (June 14–16, 2024, Taiwan), performed by Chinese Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera. Besides, in the big silver screen in the movie when Batman in the film quotes Shakespeare: “As the Bard once said, The Fault lies not in our stars but in ourselves.” Although Batman does not quote Shakespeare by verbatim using the exact words, we can still see the indirect quotation and appropriation. There are plentiful examples of Shakespeare films which can be available via the streaming media. Shakespeare’s influence has been more than what we expect.
