Injuries in and around ankle are the most common lower limb traumatic injuries one sees in the outpatient and emergency. Owing to a large variety of forces (twisting, bending, and compression) and position of the foot following trauma, the presentation of these injuries varies. An immediate identification and prompt treatment of these injuries often result in good clinical outcomes. A basic understanding of the core anatomy, classification of injuries, radiology, and treatment would be ideal.
