Biorisk management consideration is an essential component when working with fungi in a laboratory setting. This chapter highlights the unique challenges when handling fungi specimens including collection, transport, and testing. Risk assessment as a key component in the evaluation and management of risks are emphasized. Various mitigation strategies to minimize the risks are described. Moreover, a list of fungal pathogens of concern in Southeast Asia will be described in this chapter. Lastly, this chapter will also feature the steps in performance evaluation after risk mitigation.
