Role of Interventional Radiology in Liver Transplantation
摘要
Interventional radiology (IR) service has become an essential requirement for any successful liver transplant program. The common complications in the postoperative period are vascular complications (hepatic artery, portal vein, and hepatic vein-related complications) and biliary complications (bile leaks and biliary strictures). IR provides a plethora of procedures for managing these post-liver transplant complications. These include: catheter-directed intra-vascular thrombolysis and stenting for hepatic artery thrombosis, portal vein thrombosis, and hepatic vein thrombosis; covered stents and embolization for pseudoaneurysms and bleeding; and biliary drainage and biliary stents for biliary complications. With refinements in technique and availability of newer hardware, the results of IR procedures continue to improve the patients’ outcomes.
